(February 2015)     There will be craft classes/meetings each month (sometimes two!) so that we can get together to prepare items for sale at our convention in September. Please join us for fun, fellowship, and to help with this project to benefit our intergroup. Classes will be held on 2/20, 2/26, 3/21, 3/26, 4/18, 4/23, 5/16, 6/20, 7/18, 8/22, and 9/12. The Thursday meetings will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church (4301 Atrisco NW) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. and the Saturday meetings will be held at Grace Church (6901 San Antonio NE) from 12 to 2 PM. See events calendar on the website sidebar for information and maps to the locations.

Also, we are in desperate need of help to sew items at home for at least three of our projects. In Feb & March we will be cutting out the pieces we need to sew at home. We will also be teaching a craft those two months for take home crafts to learn and work on at home the next few months. Now is the time to offer to teach a class on a craft you want to share with others. We need to schedule it asap.

We are in need for each group to start collecting items of donations for your group’s basket for the raffle. Individuals can also donate individual items or a basket. If anyone wants to do their craft(s) at home and donate them in Sept. please let Suzanne or Irine know what your plans are. If anyone has any southwest materials to use for one of our crafts please let Irine know right away.

See January’s newsletter for other items we are needing. We will need lots of help the next nine months. If you do not help before the convention you can always buy something to donate for the raffle and/or save your money so you can buy tickets !! It is all going to help our Region 3 and our CNMI and it’ll be a lot of fun and fellowship. Together we can !!   Thanks so very much for your time, Suzanne & Irine

(January 2015)   Irine F. and Suzanne B. are co-chairing this committee for the 2015 Region III Convention. Fund-raising activities will include a quilt raffle, a 50/50 raffle, sale of craft items such as God boxes, book marks, and hand-made books, and a gift basket raffle. The committee is requesting the following help:

? Groups and individuals who want to make gift baskets to be raffled. These baskets are to be turned in before 9/19.
? Crafts ideas for volunteers to make at home or at monthly craft workshops.
? Volunteers to knit, crochet, sew, or paint craft items for sale.
? Donations of paper, fabric, craft items, and other materials for use at the craft workshops.
? Plastic quart yogurt containers or smaller plastic containers with lids for God boxes.
? Volunteers to cut out book covers to sew, and, if no one volunteers to head the quilt raffle, volunteers to cut quilt pieces by February.
? Volunteers to make bookmarks to be laminated. This has been a lot of fun in the past.
