Intergroup (CNMI)

What is an intergroup?

An intergroup is a service body in the structure of OA as a whole. (OA structure) An intergroup forms when several meetings in an area come together to address issues of joint importance and to organize their OA business related concerns. While meetings concern themselves with individual recovery, intergroups help with organization and business related issues. The intergroup has officers and representatives from the affiliated groups and operates under bylaws.  It is a layer of organization between the individual groups and their region. This service group will typically:

  • Maintain a phone line so that the public can access local OA information
  • Sponsor special events for its members
  • Disseminate information to the public and to the professional community
  • Host regional conventions and assemblies
  • Publish a newsletter and/or maintain a website
  • Send delegates to Region and World Service business meetings

We are the Central New Mexico Intergroup (CNMI) which provides services to OA meetings in the Greater Albuquerque Metropolitan Area, Las Cruces, Alamogordo and Gallup in New Mexico, and Durango in Southern Colorado. We are part of Region III of Overeaters Anonymous, which is comprised of meetings in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah and southern Nevada including Las Vegas.

Meeting Location and Dates

CNMI meets remotely via zoom on the SECOND SATURDAY of every month, from 9:00 to 10:45 AM.

Intergroup meetings are open to all OA members and all are encouraged to attend.
